Rockland County predictions

May
12

OK, so here are my long awaited predictions for the top five finishers on the boys side:

1. Ramapo: I know I’m really going out on a limb here. They have so much talent they will dominate a handful of events and score enough points everywhere else to win their second straight county title.

2. Suffern: That second place finish at leagues really impressed me. The Mounties have a lot of talented runners and they should score enough points to claim second place. The emergence of Dom McEnery and Jesse Sarka should give this team enough diversity to do well.

3. North Rockland: The Red Raiders haven’t had that impressive of a season. They have a lot of depth and should score in a lot of events, but I don’t know how many points they’ll score in some of these events. They will lack the big scorers needed to make a serious threat. Who will get them 20-30 points?

4. Spring Valley: Its strength is the same as Ramapo’s strength. A lot of really talented sprinters, but the Tigers should pick up points that Ramapo doesn’t get in the 1, 2, 4 and the relays.

5. Clarkstown South: The injury to Antoine McGill is brutal. I’m not sure how serious it is, but if he can’t compete then the Vikings are in trouble. You’re taking out of the lineup someone who can not only score but win three events on his own. Not to mention being a team leader.

whats everyone predicting in terms of individuals, right now i got

    800-carrington
    1600-flach
    3200-hickey

everything below that is basically a ramapo sweep with mcgill thrown in the hurdles

I think it depends on who will compete. Is the injury McGill suffered at Loucks serious? Has anyone seen or heard from Xavier Fowler?

I think Sarka will win the pole vault.

Who wins the 4×8 or the high jump?

Whitley I say has the 400 hurdles locked up.

Flach could steal the 8 as well, he’s been having a great season.

The 800 is a wide open race in Rockland this year. I believe it will be very tight between Carrington and Flach, but I wouldn’t be surprised if someone else took it.
