The running world in the Lower Hudson Valley with Dan Marra

Regis invitational and some thoughts (Updated)

September
14

Down at Van Cortlandt Park there were some interesting results in the Regis invitational, but nothing I think we can take too seriously. It seemed as though Irvington did run with Ian Matthews, however he was not in the results, but finished ninth in 14:16. Iona Prep ran but I don’t know with who. Sean Halpin and Kyle Shepard were not in the standings so I don’t know. So, when you look at the results be aware that it seems as though they are inaccurate.

However, I’d keep a little closer eye on Byram Hills. The team finished third in the merged results. The Bobcats had two runners under 14.10 at VCP. Joe Violone, who you would expect to have a good season and Chris Cioffoletti. They could definitely be contender in Class B, where Pearl River could be vulnerable after ts first two runners. Other than that, it’s tough to really gauge a meet where so many runners didn’t race.

For those of you interested in the results of this meet, you can check them out here at this link to armorytrack.

Again I’d like to thank everybody for reading this blog, posting your comments and responding to the poll. Your interaction makes this blog work and I hope to continue to see it grow. And as always be sure to check back tomorrow for some more info and input on all the weekend’s results (I’d like to give you an exact time, but this was a very busy weekend for me and I plan on sleeping deep into tomorrow afternoon). Be good and I’ll talk to you all soon.
