Sectional predictions (girls)

October
29

halloween_image.jpgAlright, it has finally arrived…Halloween.

Who will be bringing home sectional titles? Who will be breaking the tape in their respective rankings? I have no idea, but why not pretend like I do for a few minutes, after all it’s almost Halloween – the time for your imagination to run wild.

Make sure you check back later when I look over the boys results. I also may have gone a little overboard and tried to predict the scores for the top two teams, just for fun.gamboli.jpg

Here we go:

Class AA: Arlington will win, but it’s going to be very, very close. North Rockland will take second, Suffern third with Shelby Greany taking the individual title. Mahopac should come in fourth.

I don’t see any school beating Arlington and I don’t see anybody beating Greany. North Rockland took second through fourth at the county meet and will be able to pack nicely. This team definitely has a good shot at taking the title. And Suffern should not be overlooked this team still has the talent to win the section. This promises to be one of the closer races.

Class A: If you asked me a few weeks ago what would happen – I would have thought Ursuline would win, but Brewster would have made it close. Now, after Ursuline’s impressive victory at Van Cortlandt it’s going to be difficult for Brewster to keep it close. Katie Sullivan will take first in the meet.
Class B: Well, we all know that this is Pearl River’s meet. The team will be going for its 30th straight sectional title. It’s not even out of the realm of possibility that this team might sweep the meet. It’ll be tough though because Jessica Kendzor and Megan Young have had real strong coming out seasons. Chelsea Kushner is my pick to win the individual title.

Class C: Very similar to Class B. Bronxville is the obvious favorite and even though the team has hit a bit of a slump recently it won’t be challenged. Caitlin Hudson will take first.

  1. Arlington (40)

  2. North Rockland (44)

  3. Suffern

  4. Mahopac

  5. White Plains

Please explain what you mean by North Rockland took second
through fourth at the county meet?

  2. Dan Marra

It should actually be 3rd through 6th and I meant compared to Suffern. North Rockland took third through sixth place out of teams that will be competing in the Class AA meet.
