A little update

May
5

Hey bloggers….

So, I was able to get my hands on the team scores from the League III-C Championships, but no results have been sent in or posted as of yet.

For the girls:

Pearl River 202.5
Irvington 130
Nanuet 78.5
Sleepy Hollow  47
Albertus Magnus 26
Hastings 0

For the boys:

Pearl River    164
Nanuet    149
Irvington 146
Sleepy Hollow    44
Hastings 1
Albertus Magnus 0

Hopefully, we’ll get some more information by tomorrow but for now that’s all I have.

Still looking for the team scores from the League III-A Championships and I have some results but I didn’t want to post them unless they were definitely right.

Mike Hickey won the mile in 4:31, Julian Saliani 2nd in 4:37
Pat Keane won the 800 in 1:59, Julian Saliani 2nd in the same time i think
Ryan Mckallen of PR won the 3200 with Mike Hickey right behind him
PR won the 4×8 splitting 2:13-2:03-2:15-1:58

now the newsreporters are asking for results to be sent in to be sure what they have is correct. It is a sad state of affairs when reporters are asking for free lance reporting to be done to get their stories???

Results from dual and league meets have always been called in by the coaches. Did you think that the J-news sent timers to the finish lines and recorded the times itself? Casey is right—the League IIIA results that are posted on Armory are filled with mistakes. So—good job, Casey, on picking that up and waiting for verification.

Somehow the Jnews reporters manage to get to the stick and ball games and get the results.

So, let me understand this. You’re of the view that the J-News should send a team of reporters to every meet with stop watches and tape measures, rather than rely upon coaches and officials the turn over the detailed results? I agree that the Jnews could do a better job of covering track, but let’s keep our arguments within the bounds of reality. We criticize the reporters for publishing erroneous results. Now we’re criticizing them for seeking better information upon discovering errors (as is the case with the III-A results).

it would nice ifthere was a reportedor a photographerat the meetwould benice if therewas a story in the paper about a league meet. it is not right to think that jnews would officiate the meet. but agree casey should wait for results and names. but would be nice to include names of the relay winners not just the school.

Just FYI – we haven’t been getting the names of all the relay winners – that’s why they haven’t been in.

I have been typing up the league meets myself, so I would give names if I had them. I know it’s important (and helpful to know too!)
