This was a pretty exciting meet. There were a lot of high quality performances, but in the end it was the North Rockland boys that held on to capture the county title of Ramapo. It wasn’t until the last event had completed – the 1,600 relay, that North Rockland had officially won. The team had a great meet. But so did Ramapo who performed exceptionally well at the meet, but came in second.
It was Suffern on the girls side that took first place. The team received the typical performances from Shelby and the Claytons, but it was the Goldmanns and the Bowens that helped the Mounties beat out a very strong North Rockland team. Like I said, this meet had some increible performances. I’ll talk more about the meet tomorrow after I get back from the Westchester championships.

Dan Marra began working for the Journal News this past September. He graduated from Manhattan College in 2004 and from John F. Kennedy High School in 2000. While at Kennedy, he ran cross-country and track. He is excited to be covering the sport that he participated in throughout his four years in high school. After graduating from St. John's University, Casey joined the Journal News staff in December 2007 and has covered a variety of sports including basketball, softball, and volleyball.
that article today was typical of the journal news coverage as of late. If your not going to get the facts straight, why bother writing them?
esparance is from nyack, not north rockland. and you put that on the front cover of the sports section..
angelica gilsenan won the pole vault…not the long jump
I don’t believe that north rockland had 2 1:55 legs. the splits you gave in the paper, and the winning time don’t add up. plus in the official results the winning time is 8:06. not 8:03
Journal News track Coverage = Worst local sports… u get more info from looking straight at the results instead of readisng the actual articles.
