Of course NR gained points in the relays, they run all of them and won the 3200m relay.Ramapo won the 400m and 1600m relay.all in all it was a great meet and NR won by 4-5 points, so it was a close meet.NR’s depth was the deciding factor, Ramapo does this with about 9 kids scoring and remeber NO Malivert or Padilla.Also I think it should be mentioned Mike Abelard went home with 4 GOLD MEDALS, 100,200 4×100, 4×400 relay with trials semi’s not a bad days work.

dude it was so effin epic. i dont know if sections can be any more epic. btw i gotta pick chris carrington for sportsmanship award for the county meet. he showed so much respect to his competition

Shelby as well won the 3000m 5 years in a row, unfortunatley she can’t go for a 6th win.

Little-known fact that comes out of the county meet: When Jen Clayton just nipped Shilesha Johnson at the wire in the 100, she equaled a performance that had been achieved by only one athlete—boy or girl, indoors or outdoors—in county-meet history, which is to have won the same individual event five consecutive times.

Clarkstown South’s Jodi Schlesinger won the triple jump from 1995 through 1999, and prior to Friday, she was the only athlete to have ever won five in a row.

Jen has won the 100 every year since 7th grade, and, of course, next year she will have a chance to break this “record” and to set one that could only be tied in the future—winning the same individual event six consecutive times!

Hurdle Field,

It’s my understanding that Claudio’s hamstring is still bothering him and the next time he’ll compete will be at state quals. The Class B meet isn’t totally out of the question, but I wouldn’t count on it.

As for Rones, he was in street clothes at the county meet, and I believe it was Loucks (I could be wrong on the meet) that I saw him pull up running down the straightaway. He hasn’t run since then. I don’t know when he’ll be back, if he can come back at all. Hopefully he can compete this weekend.

Mike Hickey of Pearl River went 9:42 to dominate the 3200. However he again fell victim to Carrington’s late race kick…might want to include that
