A little update

May
5

Hey bloggers….

So, I was able to get my hands on the team scores from the League III-C Championships, but no results have been sent in or posted as of yet.

For the girls:

Pearl River 202.5
Irvington 130
Nanuet 78.5
Sleepy Hollow  47
Albertus Magnus 26
Hastings 0

For the boys:

Pearl River    164
Nanuet    149
Irvington 146
Sleepy Hollow    44
Hastings 1
Albertus Magnus 0

Hopefully, we’ll get some more information by tomorrow but for now that’s all I have.

Still looking for the team scores from the League III-A Championships and I have some results but I didn’t want to post them unless they were definitely right.

Live webcast

May
5

If you can’t make it to White Plains High School on Friday, the paper will be shooting a live webcast of all the days events. The address is: www.lohud.com/vcsports1. I will post it again as we get closer to Friday.

The quality is pretty good, so if you can’t make it to the Loucks Games, just head to that link and you can watch all the events from the day.

National record

May
4

Shelby Greany does it again. The Providence-bound senior set the national record in the steeplechase tonight as she took first in the Cornwall Steeplefest in 6:33.7.

FYI – the previous record was held by Marie Lawrence of Reno in 6:36.05, the state record was previously held by Lindsay Ferguson (Saratoga) with the same time and Kara McKenna (Suffern) had the Section 1 record of 6:41.15. Interestingly enough all those records were set in 2006.

To run that time on a day like today. She set the record by almost three full seconds. Can you have a better senior year?

We have two good track candidates – Miles Peterson (Pleasantville) and Tanaya Yarde (Mount Vernon).
