Final thoughts on States…

November
12

Editor’s Note- I’ve added some new stuff in the Class C section.

I wanted to let a little time pass by before I wrote anything about Saturday because there was a bunch of things that truly ticked me off. I didn’t want to post immediately because it would come off as an irrational rant and or [...]

Thoughts from sectionals…

November
3

First, I have to apologize for waiting so long to get this in. It should have been in earlier.

After watching five girls races and interviewing over 20 different runners/coaches on Friday, there just was so much to cover, even with 2000 words of space allotted in Saturday’s newspaper for myself and Dan, I felt [...]

Sectional coverage in today’s paper

November
1

Stay tuned to the blog for more thoughts and stories from yesterday’s Section 1 races. Just like at counties, we wanted to give priority to writing as much as we could for the print edition of the newspaper, so we produced four stories chocked full of info and insight.

I wrote about Pearl River’s 30th consecutive [...]

More Counties Recap…

October
24

After a pair of big meets like Westchester and Rockland yesterday, I just know the cross country public is left thirsting for more. With our priority given to writing our four articles on deadline, we weren’t given a chance to post anything substantial except for Dan’s quick update.

That and the World Series, then eating [...]

A huge day for dual meets around Section 1. There were 27 scheduled races. I would like to thank the coaches for being patient and calling in their results. There is a lot to digest here but a lot of the results seemed to re-enforce a couple things from this past weekend…

A triumphant Patrick Wortner was giddy…It’s his first. It’s all very understandable.

“I’ve been running the same race for the past three years… “I’ve been working hard all summer and I felt I had this,” Wortner said. “I just felt that this is the start of something big for me. I am really focused on [...]
